Achievement through Caring

Why?

Because education is everyone’s passport to a world beyond limitations and inequality; we, as educators, have the ability to permit access to worlds unimagined and should never underestimate the value of such a privileged position. By inculcating caring cultures, accessible yet aspirational curricula, and extensive opportunities in preparation for adulthood, all children and young people are supported to achieve academically, developmentally, and spiritually.

How?

Our Learning for Life Framework outlines our inclusive pillars for achieving our vision: learning, health and wellbeing, individual development, safeguarding and attendance, and communities. Our schools hold Learning for Life central to their school systems, cultures and decision making ensuring a consistent approach to supporting all learners to thrive.

What?

Our Learning for Life Framework underpins all schools’ offers of education, from 2-19. We provide a broad universal offer and by knowing our learners well, combined with rigorous tracking and incisive decision making, we provide timely needs-led support to allow all children and young people to thrive. We believe in a life beyond labels where children and young people receive the right support, at the right time.

The Shore

Year 7 Transition is a significant time for children, young people and their families. Moving into any new community comes with establishing new rules, ways to communicate, different ways of working and new expectations. Whilst we try to prepare our new students with our transition programme, we know that there is much more to ‘belonging’ in a new community.

The Shore is a place where all students begin their journey with us. Our focus on getting to know our students and building strong lasting relationships in this ‘school within a school’ is a springboard to learning for life.

The Shore is a year of connection, culture, and timely change. We look forward to standing together with you looking out on a sea of endless possibilities for every young person and ultimately making a difference in the world.

5 Key Principles

  • Belonging – relationships first.
  • Inclusive and ambitious curriculum with reading and oracy at the centre.
  • High expectations both in the classroom and in the school community for all pupils – achieving personal best in a respectful and caring culture.
  • Research based interventions and support for those who need it.
  • Gradual transition into secondary education through a clearly defined area of the school and carefully planned timetable which enables CYP to flourish.
